The Challenge:
During the Discovery phase, it became clear that the existing van set-up was limiting operational efficiency and on-site productivity.
-
Engineers were unable to run essential equipment such as 110V tools, restricting the scope of work they could complete on-site.
-
Multiple site visits were often required because vans could not carry the right combination of tools, stock, and equipment in one trip.
-
Limited and poorly organised load space meant stock often obstructed access to tools.
-
No effective solution for storing long ladders and managing paperwork within the vehicle.
-
Increased safety and security risks, particularly when vehicles were left running during works.
The overall impact was lost time, reduced productivity, and unnecessary operational cost.
Our Solution:
We developed two tailored vehicle specifications to reflect the different workflows across teams, ensuring each van was optimised for its real-world use.
-
A fully integrated electrical system, enabling reliable 110V power for tools and improving on-site capability.
-
Internal and external lighting to extend safe working time and improve visibility in all conditions.
-
A bespoke internal rail system and high-level ladder storage to maximise load space without compromising accessibility.
-
A layered security solution, including reinforced locks and segregated load area access, reducing theft risk.
-
Enhanced safety features, including interior lighting, exterior work lights, amber strobes, and beacons.
-
A transformer-based 110V supply with retractable cable reel, giving engineers flexible and efficient power on site.
